WINDOWS FIRMWARE INSTALLATION

Before updating your firmware, there are some important concerns you should be know about. If your drive works, don't flash it.  Firmware updates should be a last resort type of fix. Search out other alternates before choosing to flash your drive. Firmware flashes are done so at your own risk.  When upgrading, always make sure the firmware version you are upgrading to is the correct firmware for your right drive Below are instructions for properly flashing a new firmware for your drive.

NOTE: Before updating your firmware, please close all open applications and unplug any unnecessary devices.

Before updating your firmware, you must confirm that you have the appropriate drive. The best way is to verify the drive's ID String.

1. Download & Install DVDInfoPro or Nero Info Tool.
2. Install the Software and run it after installation is complete.
3. Start DVDInfoPro or Nero Info Tool.
4. Select your DVDRW drive from the pull down menu.
5. Your ID Drive String and current firmware version should be listed on the right side.


Check that your drive's ID STRING MATCHES the firmware you are downloading . Updating the wrong firmware on a different drive may cause permanent damage.
  1. Download the appropriate firmware for your device
  2. Extract your compressed files to a temporary folder.
  3. Run the firmware executable from the extracted files
  4. The firmware update field will appear. Click “Upgrade” to begin updating your firmware.


  5. One last warning will appear before your update process begins. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY and follow all directions.


  6. After firmware update is completed, press “Close” to close the update window.


  7. Press “Close” again to close the firmware download window.


  8. To verify your drive has been flashed correctly, restart your computer, and open DVDInfoPro again. Check that your firmware version has been updated
